AI crafted for report writing in financial advice

Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT and Claude can help financial advisers and paraplanners draft documents, summarise information and reduce repetitive work. However, general-purpose AI tools are not, by themselves, a controlled solution for producing suitability reports.

The suitability report is where advice is evidenced — and where the client either understands the recommendation or quietly gives up trying. A good report does two jobs at once: it satisfies the regulator and it genuinely helps the client. Plenty of reports manage the first and fail the second.
